I've only been as far south as Frederickburg actively hunting them. I caught one the locals called a Wood Spider, but I think it was some kind of Wolf spider. Bigger than any tarantula I've seen in the pet store. That was a good catch. Carried him around on my shoulder for quite a while. I bet you have some handsome spiders down there, too.
