Yep, we've put ourselves on the Do Not Call List and we have specifically asked Verizon to put us on their do not call (someone at customer service that we contacted directly--not the poor schmucks who call here a zillion times).

866-259-3883 is also Verizon. I'm glad my rant is coming up in search to save other people the headache too.

Ever heard of the Do-Not-Call List? Firms that you already do business with can still call you.

You have to contact them and request that they put you on their INTERNAL do not call list, otherwise they will continue to call. Telling the "telemarketer" that calls your home does no good. You must make an effort to reach someone in customer service and INSIST that you be placed on the company Do-Not-Call List.

BTW, my google search brought up your site when I ran the phone number on my CID. Since my Verizon Wireless contract runs out shortly, I expect there will be more calls (Obviously, I will ignore, since, thanks to you, I now know who is on the other end of the call from Nevada, 702-835-0178).

I never realized how many crap calls we missed when we were on dial-up and stayed connected all the time. We haven't had any problems with Verizon, but the Red Cross and the Police fundraisers (which I think are total fakes) are driving me crazy.
