I think he comes off as quite passive and in that respect he needed to step up a bit more based on our topic. He was the one the professor thought would do a wonderful job at our "deep and meaningful" segment. I'm not sure he came across that way but he also didn't completely fail. It's strange that he doesn't have more of a presence--he used to teach school in his home country...you'd think be used to speaking in front of a group (and our group was 8 in number last night so not a big, scary group).
