While I’ve been stuck here dithering around

Saturday morning we’re babysitting the Niece. I’m not sure what we’re going to do. One of her favorite activities while at our house is to investigate our belongings–we do have lots of small, interesting items laying around. I’m hoping the weather will be nice enough that we can take a walk in the woods.

We’re also planning on having the MIL come over for dinner on Sunday. I have no idea what we’re going to have but it will be one of those simple, hearty kind of dinners. I do know there will be no gluten on the menu which is really not that hard to accomplish.

VA in the News=Dumb VA

What defines lewd or indecent manner? Why is VA only in the news when we’re total idiots? I’m glad to see that General Assembly time is being well spent.

Jubilation

We finally have a contract on our old house. I’m sure our realtor is thrilled because next week her contract runs out and we had plans to take it off the market to do a few more repairs/spruce-ups and then re-list with another realtor. I’m really glad our realtor came through.

Even though there’s plenty that can go wrong between now and closing, we’re pretty excited about the whole turn of events.

In other news, the site has been upgraded. The email link is active over there in the sidebar area (although there is a minor hoop to jump through to thwart spammers). The frog has crazy hair that sticks up just like mine.

*Update: I’m having a horrible time stringing words together this week. Bodes well for the new job where I’ll be writing all the time.

Coming Soon

Very big changes are coming our way…we’re updating the site to Movable Type 3.15 sometime this week. We’ve tested with a backup version of the site. If any commenting gets wonky, hold tight and the wonky will get worked out.

Also, I’m working on a graphic for email. It will be either really hideous or really simple. That way if you have to get in touch with me, you’ll have the means to email me.

The Cam

My sister and her husband are in New Orleans. I’ve been checking this out to see if I can spot them. I know, a needle in a haystack.

On My Way To Work

On my way to work, I saw a lacy underwire bra hanging on a fence. I guess there was a little fun at the pull-off for the Chickahominy last night.

On my way into the parking lot, I saw the hoopty man performing some much needed maintenance on his hoopty. He has one of those battery chargers plugged into a patched up extension cord which he is running off of the electricity in the building. The cord comes in the front door. Nothing says quality like that.

The 700 Club

This weekend we visited the hairdresser and were shorn. I’m so freaking happy that I have practically no hair on my head. It probably would make sense to space trips to the hairdresser a little closer together so that the heinous stack of hair would be kept at bay but that takes a lot of effort. I don’t like calling the salon because the nitwit who sometimes answers the phone has screwed up appointments before. For some reason, the better-half can call, is remembered because of his voice and the appointments go off without a hitch. I don’t call there anymore.

Holy Cow

Our across the street neighbor just came over and introduced herself. And, she came bearing gifts. Today is our lucky day. I guess “people in neighborhoods like these” really do care about each other.
